The Israel Export & International Cooperation Institute targets - Vietnam
The Software Department of the Israel Export & International Corporation Institute (IEICI) has led several successful activities with Vietnam during the month of May 2008, including organizing an "IT Security" Training Course in Ho Chi Minh City and business meetings for the Israeli companies in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. In addition the Software Department hosted a delegation headed by VINASA (Vietnam Software Association) that visited Israel and conducted business meetings with Israeli software and telecommunication companies
The IEICI has recognized Vietnam as one of the fastest growing economies in South East Asia and a country with some of the most liberal foreign investment laws in the region

In 2007 the Telecommunications market has experienced 26% growth, reaching $5.3 billion
The ICT industry's growth rate in Vietnam is twice bigger than the average Asian growth rate and 3-times the global ICT industry's growth rate. The ICT market in Vietnam is estimated at $1 billion and considered to be one of the fastest growing markets in Vietnam
Forecast for 2008-2009 is an increase of 7.6% and 7.9% in perspective.
Israeli export to Vietnam in 2007 was estimated in total of $71 million.
During the first quarter of 2008 the Israeli export to Vietnam increased in 34% compared to last year, and was estimated in total of $30.6 million.
According to Frost and Sullivan Market Research report, the Vietnamese market for Information Security is growing rapidly with annual growth of 30% between now and 2011, the world’s highest rate. The report forecasts an annual growth of 25% each year, summing up to $7 billion and emphasizes that Vietnam is eager to penetrate the global market by having liberal foreign investment laws within the region, encouraging new investments and expatriating and outsourcing their IT personnel

A five days IT Security course was conducted in Ho Chi Minh City by Israeli IT security companies 2BSecure, Nice Systems, Check Point Software Technologies and Avnet Information Systems Security and Risk Management. The course was organized with collaboration of the IEICI, the Israel Ambassador to Vietnam, the Vietnamese Ministry of Information and Communications and the National Institute of Information and Communication Strategy. Over 200 IT Managers from 27 ICT Departments of various organizations participated in the course; ICT companies such as: Viettel, FPT, EVN Telecom, SPT, SaigonTel, Gtel; banks, security companies and more. The training was broadcasted and covered by the local mass media
While in Vietnam, the Israeli companies conducted business meetings with leading IT managers and CIOs from financial & governmental institutions and telecom companies in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City in order to expose the Vietnamese market to their solutions and services
According to the Vietnamese feedback the course was extremely successful, focused and professional. The combination of training with business meetings established a great reputation for Israeli IT security industry in the Vietnamese market. It also created a great opportunity to obtain future business collaboration between the two countries
The VINASA delegation that visited Israel at the end of May included 9 ICT companies that came to Israel as part of their India-Israel-Egypt tour, looking to promote collaboration between the countries. Among the participants were software and telecommunication companies like VNPT, VDC, DTSoft, NCS Corporation and FPT Software. They met with 20 Israeli companies, among which were VocalTec, ECI, Telrad, FTS and more
The VINASA delegation and the Israeli business representatives met during the one-on-one meetings at the IEICI and during company visits. The delegation visited Matrix, Amdocs, Magic and 2BSecure. The event was reported to be successful, relevant and business-focused
