Hememics Biotechnologies Inc

HeMemics has a desiccation technology that can be applied to many peptides, proteins, cell types and possibly thin tissues. We have a unique technology to preserve mammalian cells and other biologics in dried or partially dried format as shelf-stable products. Such biologics are easily rehydrated with water or other required buffer systems. The most exciting and promising feature of this technology is that both cells and proteins recovered and demonstrated normal functions upon rehydration

HeMemics is in a unique position to provide customized solution to clients that need to stabilize their products in dried/partially dried format, instead of liquid or frozen format, for ease of storage and transportation. To evaluate HeMemics technology, the company has made one its products, the desiccated red blood cells, commercially available for research evaluation purposes

David Ho Ph.D - President and CSO

Dr. Ho has been involved with several academic, government and industry organizations in managing projects related to platelet cell stabilization for wound dressing, tissue regeneration, and transfusable applications for U.S. Army and the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA). Dr. Ho has been actively engaging in the use of freeze-dried platelets in hard-to-heal wound management and tissue regeneration and the use of platelets and platelet-derived microparticles as hemostatic agents. Currently, Dr. Ho and his group are exploring the use of desiccation technology to desiccate red blood cells and other mammalian cells for long-term preservation and storage

Before that, Dr. Ho was a lab chief for GTI-Novartis Pharmaceuticals and led or participated in projects where he designed and stabilized delivery vehicles to suppress growth of cancer cells, an active member of the American Society of Hematology. Dr. Ho is widely published and the holder of several patents. Dr. Ho’s formal education includes a Ph.D. from Temple University.
